Ol' Red History

Ol' Red is a 1966 American LaFrance.  It is a fully functional fire engine. It has a 300 gallon tank and can pump 1250 gallons per minute.

Ol' Red was purchased in 1966 and served as Engine Company 1 until around 1982 when it was moved to Engine Company 3.  Around 1990, it became Engine Company 8 and remained in service until December 1996 when it was replaced with a Smeal Pumper.  Ol' Red was retired in February of 1997.  It served as a front line pumper during its entire time of service with the North Little Rock Fire Department.
This proud pumper was dearly loved by Frank "Big Daddy" Staggs and Randy Williford.  Randy is credited for giving Ol' Red its name.
As a tribute to Randy Williford, who was a "Line of duty casualty" and is sorely missed by us all, I named the business after Ol' Red.
Ol' Red is a great piece of history from the North Little Rock Fire Department.  Ol' Red fought many big fires through the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's

Ol' Red is still a proud apparatus and is ready to serve.
